Last April, in an incredible gesture of generosity and compassion, the Dawoodi Bohra Muslim Community announced a five-year partnership with Food Banks Mississauga.
This exceptional contribution— the largest gift Food Banks Mississauga has ever received from a faith community— supports our Food Bank 2 Home program, delivering nutritious food for an incredible 250,000 meals to homebound neighbours across Mississauga over the next five years. The gift is part of “Project Rise,” an initiative of the Dawoodi Bohra global community to improve the lives of the less fortunate.
Behlah Ayman, President of the Mississauga Dawoodi Bohra, says:
“Combating food insecurity has long been an initiative of the global Dawoodi Bohra community. Through this program, we will strive to alleviate hunger and foster a more equitable and healthier future for all.”
THANK YOU to the Dawoodi Bohra community for their commitment to supporting neighbours living with food insecurity. We are so grateful to have partners like you by our side who believe food is a human right.
